Parent Open Day｜Is Kindergarten and Weekly Therapy Enough?

Children between 1.5 and 6 years old experience rapid development in language, social interaction, emotional regulation, and learning skills. For children with autism, these early years are especially critical, as the right support during this period can significantly influence long-term outcomes.
After receiving a diagnosis, many parents take immediate steps to support their child. Common arrangements may include:
  • “My child is attending kindergarten — that should help with social development.”
  • “We are attending speech therapy once or twice a week.”
  • “We’re trying different therapies to see what works best.”
However, parents often begin to wonder:
  • “Why is progress slower than I expected?”
  • “Is my child receiving enough support?”
  • “What does ‘intensive intervention’ actually mean?”
  • “Is kindergarten plus weekly therapy sufficient?”

This Parent Open Day is designed for families of young children with autism or developmental delays who would like to better understand what effective early
intervention truly involves.

AP consultant, Frederick Chan (M.Ed., M.Soc.Sc, BCBA) will share AP Method is delivered in an intensive, structured format to maximise learning opportunities, strengthen communication, and build essential readiness skills during the critical early years.

Parents will also have the opportunity to tour the centre and participate in a Q&A session.
