Autism Conference – Unlock Potential of Your Child with ASD: Leading the Journey to Success

A conference designed to support local families affected by autism in Qingdao

Raising a child with ASD presents unique challenges that many families may not anticipate. Navigating the right therapies, educational options, and essential resources can be overwhelming, leaving parents feeling unprepared and uncertain. Additionally, managing behavioral challenges, communication difficulties, and social skill development can be stressful, making it even harder to ensure a child’s long-term success.
On March 22 (Sat), Autism Partnership will conduct a 1-day ASD conference, providing families with expert guidance and practical strategies to make a meaningful difference in their child’s development.
The event will feature 4 expert-led sessions covering:
Effective treatment approaches
Behavior management strategies
Developing language and social communication skills
Live Demonstration:
Practical techniques to support skill development
4 ASD experts from Autism Partnership will share their expertise, empowering families with evidence-based solutions. A live demonstration with a child of ASD will showcase these techniques in action, providing invaluable hands-on applications.

Session 1: Effective Treatment Approaches (9:30am - 11:00am)

The Progressive ABA (AP Method) approach, developed over the years, aims to maximize progress and quality of life for children with ASD. In this presentation, the speaker will discuss effective methods and programs to facilitate meaningful progress for children with ASD and provide guidance to professionals and caregivers on improving quality of life for them. The session will offer a comprehensive overview of AP Method’s core principles and demonstrate how these are applied to create individualized ABA programs that strengthen foundational skills.
Parents and professionals will learn how quality ABA treatment can effectively target crucial areas such as language, behavior management, and learning motivation, leading to significant progress in these critical domains.

Session 2: Behavior Management Strategies (11:00am - 12:30pm)

Children with ASD often display a range of behavioral challenge, including frequent tantrums, not following instructions, repetitive behaviours, self-harm and aggressive behaviours. These behaviours will also bring great stress to caregivers and adversely affect children’s learning and social interaction. To effectively tackle these behavioural problems, it is critical to identity the causes of behaviours and the skill deficits in the children and develop a systematic plan to teach replacement skills. This session will explore the behavioral problems of ASD and provide guidance on managing these challenges.

Lunch Break (12:30pm - 1:30pm)

Session 3: Developing Language and Social Communication Skills (1:30pm - 3:00pm)

The transition from non-verbal to verbal and to fluent social interaction is a complex and lengthy process for many children, particularly those diagnosed with ASD. These children often face significant challenges in social communication, experiencing language delays that hinder their ability. While some children with ASD possess basic language skills, they struggle to use them effectively in social interactions, lacking natural conversational fluency and the ability to respond appropriately to others.
This session will discuss the factors causing social difficulties in children with autism, provide an overview of effective foundational training techniques, and explore strategies to enhance their communication and social skills, foster positive interpersonal relationships, and ensure the consistent application of their skills in social environments.

Break (3:00pm - 3:15pm)

Session 4: Live Demonstration: Practical Techniques to Support Skill Development (3:15pm - 4:15pm)

In this session, parents and professionals will observe a live 1on1 demonstration conducted by AP consultants with a child with ASD, where the advanced strategies and programs discussed in the previous sessions will be put into practice.
This session will showcase real-time applications of language teaching methods, behavior management strategies, and motivational techniques. Parents will observe firsthand positive outcomes that result from the APM training, learn about how it can be adapted to suit their child’s specific needs and gain opportunities to ask questions and engage directly with the process.
