AP Method® Progressive ABA Workshop
Case Sharing: Understanding How Effective Treatment Supports Learning and Progress
Does your child struggle to sit still, pay attention, or communicate what they want?
For many parents of young children with ASD, everyday learning can feel challenging.
Your child may constantly run around or wander away. They may find it difficult to sit for a meal, look at a book, listen to instructions, or wait for something they want. They may know some words but still struggle to use language to tell you what they need.
This was the everyday reality for Long Long’s family.
Meet Long Long
At 3.5 years old and diagnosed with ASD at the age of 2, Long Long struggled with some of the most fundamental skills needed for learning.
He found it very difficult to stay seated, sustain attention, look towards adults, wait, and follow instructions. At home, even sitting through a meal was difficult—he would eat a little, run away or jump around, and then return.
Communication was another major concern. Although he understood some simple instructions and knew some words, he had difficulty using language meaningfully to communicate his needs.
For his mum, the concern went beyond learning.
She worried about what would happen when she was not there to help him.
Would he be able to communicate if something happened?
Could he sit and learn at school?
Could he follow a teacher’s instructions?
Could he wait?
And eventually, could he become more independent?
- Why Attend This Workshop?
What Changes Can Long Long Make in Just 2 Days of Intensive APM® Treatment?
Long Long participated in an individualized 2-day ABA treatment using the Autism Partnership Method® (APM®).
During this special case sharing workshop, we will show parents real treatment clips from these two days and explain how our consultants worked with Long Long step by step.
You will see how the team worked on:
- Building his motivation to engage and learn
- Developing his ability to sit and sustain attention
- Teaching him to wait and develop greater self-control
- Helping him look towards and respond to another person
- Encouraging more meaningful and spontaneous communication
- Adjusting teaching strategies based on his responses and progress
Most importantly, you’ll be able to see the teaching process and Long Long’s progress for yourself through real treatment footage.
Long Long’s mum was surprised to see him sitting and looking at a book—something she had previously thought was almost impossible. She also noticed changes outside the treatment setting, including being able to sit through a car journey without continuously watching YouTube and communicating “don’t want” more clearly when he wanted to refuse something.
